§ 8-44. Cause defined.

  • As used throughout this article, the term "cause" means the doing or omitting of any act, the permitting of any condition to exist in any trade, business, profession, occupation, amusement, activity or privilege for which a license is provided under the provisions of this article, or upon the premises or facilities used in connection therewith, which act, omission or condition is:

    (1)

    A violation of this article.

    (2)

    A violation of any other applicable federal, state or local law, ordinance, rule or regulation.

    (3)

    Unlawful or fraudulent in nature.

    (4)

    Beyond the scope of the license granted.

    (5)

    Abandonment of the licensed trade, business, profession, occupation, amusement, activity or privilege.

    (6)

    An unfair or deceptive act or practice as defined in section 3 of the Michigan consumer protection act, Public Act No. 331 of 1976 (MCL 445.903).
